found·ry /ˈfaʊn.dri/ n. a workshop where raw material is shaped into something that lasts.
One-on-one sessions focused on understanding, not just answers, so the next test doesn't feel like the first time.
Founded & tutored by Steve B. Emile
Test prep, math through differential equations, and the sciences. Courses with an AP version are tutored at the AP level too. Pick a category, then a course.
Both sections of the digital SAT, Math and Reading & Writing.
The SAT rewards knowing the content and knowing how each question type is asked. We find the questions that cost the most points and practice under real timing, so test day feels familiar.
Every section of the ACT, paced for its tight timing.
The ACT moves fast, so speed matters as much as skill. We build the content first, then the pacing strategy that lets students finish each section with time to check.
The Classic Learning Test, with its focus on classic texts and reasoning.
The CLT draws its reading passages from classic works and leans on careful reasoning. We practice reading those passages closely and work through the quantitative section step by step.
Florida’s college placement test for math, reading and writing.
The PERT decides which courses a student can start in at Florida colleges, including dual enrollment. We review the tested skills and practice the adaptive format so placement reflects what the student actually knows.
The groundwork for algebra, and the logic of proof.
Pre-Algebra makes fractions, negative numbers and the first variables feel ordinary. Geometry then trades equations for diagrams, and we practice reading a figure and writing proofs one justified step at a time.
From the first equation to reading any function’s graph.
Algebra I builds the habit of solving and graphing equations step by step. Algebra II stacks new function types on top, and we connect each equation to its graph so nothing gets memorized without being understood.
Everything calculus will assume you already know.
Precalculus ties algebra and trigonometry together and sets up limits. Gaps from earlier years tend to show up here, so we find them and fill them as we go.
From the first limit through differential equations.
We cover the full sequence, from Calculus 1 and 2 through multivariable calculus and differential equations. Earlier gaps get fixed along the way, and word problems get real time because that is where it clicks.
Motion and forces, then fluids, circuits and light.
Physics is half concepts and half algebra. We draw the diagram first, decide which ideas apply, then set up and solve, and build mental pictures for what you cannot see, like fields and currents.
From atoms to balanced equations.
Chemistry mixes new vocabulary with a lot of unit-heavy math. We make the concepts concrete and get comfortable with the calculations, especially stoichiometry, where most students get stuck.
Writing code, and understanding why it works.
For students taking a computer science class or learning on their own. We write real programs together, debug them line by line and work through the problem solving behind them.
How people, businesses and governments make choices.
Economics is mostly graphs and the reasoning behind them. We learn to draw each model, shift its curves and explain what the shift means in plain words.
Steve B. EmileFounder & tutor
I studied computer engineering, where math stops being a set of rules and becomes something you build with. I've spent the last five years tutoring students from Algebra through Calculus, along with physics and the SAT, and I've mentored honors students along the way. Academic Foundry is how I keep doing that one student at a time.
Send a quick note about what you're working on, or book straight onto the calendar.
Tell me the course, where things stand, and when you're free.
A first session to see what's solid, what's shaky, and what pace makes sense.
Regular one-on-one sessions, adjusted as progress happens.
Something went wrong sending that. Mind trying again?
